I graduated from the University of Georgia in 2020 with a BS in plant biology. As an undergraduate I worked in a plant genomics lab, where I developed my wet and dry bench skills and my fascination with nuclear organization and gene regulation. I decided to switch to mammalian studies for my graduate degree because I’m particularly motivated by research that has impacts on human and veterinary medicine. In my free time, I’m usually hanging out with my German Wirehaired Pointer, who is appropriately named after a scientist (Hubble), and we’ve had a blast exploring Ithaca through hiking, cross-country skiing, biking, running, and even skijoring.
