Wendy Weichert
Research Support Specialist II / Lab Manager

Working in the Parrish lab for a very long time (but, not as long as Colin), I have had the opportunity to work with some very talented and interesting people.  I have been involved with a wide variety of research projects and learned many useful techniques.  These opportunities to consistently grow have kept me motivated.  I like to think my historical knowledge of lab projects is useful.  As the lab manager, I oversee multiple funding sources and am instrumental in training lab members.  I manage a very extensive cell inventory and historical reagents.
I grew up in central New York and love the greens of summers and the whites of winter and all colors in between.  I worked in an immunology lab for several years after graduating from Cornell with a B.S. in animal science.  With that professor close to retirement, I changed paths and worked for a high-end catering company in Ithaca, learning much about the science of food preparation and gaining a great love of cooking and food.
My summers are filled with meeting family and/or friends for outdoor activities such as gardening, riding my horse, swimming, hiking and riding my bike.  My winters are filled with downhill skiing.  I am a fully certified alpine ski coach and am currently the program director for the Greek Peak Ski Club’s developmental race program.  I live in Dryden, NY with my husband and daughter.
