My name is Kari Waring and I am clinical Veterinary Medicine student studying at the Royal Veterinary College London. I am currently undertaking the Leadership Program for Veterinary Students at Cornell. I have had some previous research experience, both in the fields of Veterinary Research and Biochemistry. I also took a year out of my Veterinary degree in the earlier years in order to intercalate at Bristol University, in order to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry with Medical Biochemistry.

The Leadership Program is a unique opportunity for me to broaden my experience in research. My project focuses on the interaction between the canine parvovirus and its receptor and how modifications of this receptor influence both viral binding and activation.

Outside of the lab I am a very active outdoor person, I enjoy both team and individual sports as well as running, horse riding and hiking. I am also an avid traveller and I love to experience new places and cultures.
